The news of Aaj Tak/India Today has been approved by NIA. The terrorist who carried out the blast incident on March 1 at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, was already wanted in the NIA case. NIA had placed a reward of Rs 3 lakh each on Musavir Hussain Shajib and Abdul Matin Taha. Despite being wanted, both of them had carried out the bomb blast. Both were linked to the ISIS module of Shivamogga.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has got a big success in the Rameshwaram cafe blast case. After massive raids at several places in three states on Wednesday, the NIA has arrested a key conspirator. Action was taken by NIA teams at a total of 18 places including 12 places in Karnataka, 5 places in Tamil Nadu and one place in Uttar Pradesh.

Logistics were provided to terrorists

During this time co-conspirator Muzammil Sharif was taken into custody. NIA took over this case on March 3. Earlier, the main accused Musavir Shajib Hussain was identified, who had carried out the blast. The investigating agency had also identified another conspirator in this case, Abdul Mathin Taha, who is also wanted by the agency in other cases. Both the persons are absconding.

NIA investigation has revealed that Muzammil Sharif had provided logistics to the other two identified accused in the blast-related case. Today, along with the houses of these three accused, residential premises and shops of other suspects were also raided. Various digital devices along with cash were seized during the search. Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused and uncover the bigger conspiracy behind the blast.

There was a bomb blast in the cafe on March 1

Let us tell you that on March 1, there was a low intensity bomb blast at the Brookfield outlet of the cafe. 10 people including customers and hotel employees were injured in this blast. As soon as the explosion occurred, smoke filled the inside of the cafe and people were seen running here and there to save their lives. Initially people thought that maybe it was a cylinder blast.

After investigation the case was handed over to NIA

But, when the police and NIA team reached the spot, the needle of suspicion turned in the other direction. After this the case was completely handed over to NIA. During the subsequent investigation, some photographs of the accused of the cafe blast were revealed. In the pictures, the terrorist was seen traveling in the bus on different days, sometimes with a cap, sometimes without a cap and sometimes wearing a mask.

In this case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had posted a picture of the suspect and announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for anyone providing information about him.

The cafe was reopened on Mahashivratri

After the blast, the cafe was reopened with much fanfare on the occasion of Mahashivratri. According to the administration, metal detectors have been installed at the entrance of the cafe to check customers. Staff will screen each customer with handheld detectors before allowing entry. All customers will be closely monitored and staff will keep an eye out for any suspicious activity.

Raghavendra Rao, co-founder and CEO of The Rameshwaram Café, along with his staff sang the national anthem before welcoming customers. After this the customers had to go through the metal detector installed at the gate. During this time, cafe owner Raghavendra Rao had said that we have strengthened our security team. We are trying to form a separate panel involving ex-servicemen to train the security guards deployed in all our branches.
