Will you remember licking your feet, the war of words between Vinesh Phogat and Yogeshwar Dutt crossed limits

Comparing Yogeshwar to Jaichand, Vinesh, who has won medals several times in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, said, “As long as there are Jaichands like Yogeshwar in wrestling, surely the spirits of the oppressors will remain high.” King Jaichand of Kannauj is remembered in history for conspiring with Mohammad Ghori to defeat Prithviraj Chauhan. Along with this, Vinesh made many serious allegations against Yogeshwar. Yogeshwar was part of a six-member committee appointed by the Sports Ministry to probe allegations of sexual harassment against WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Vinesh wrote, ‘When I heard the video of Yogeshwar Dutt, that poor laugh of him got stuck in my mind. He was a part of both the committees made for women wrestlers. When women wrestlers were narrating their ordeals in front of the committee, he used to laugh very crudely. When two female wrestlers came out to drink water, he came out and told them that nothing will happen to Brij Bhushan, go and practice.

Yogeshwar has betrayed

Vinesh also alleged that Yogeshwar asked the women wrestlers to compromise and drop the charges against Brij Bhushan. He claimed, ‘Told another female wrestler in a very lewd manner that this all continues to happen, don’t make it such a big issue. Let me know if you want anything.’

Vinesh said, ‘After the committee meeting, Yogeshwar revealed the names of women wrestlers to Brijbhushan and the media. He also called several women wrestlers’ homes and told them to make their girl understand. He was already publicly giving statements against women wrestlers, yet he was kept in both the committees.

Told Yogeshwar a poisonous snake

Vinesh said, ‘He constantly prevented wrestlers and coaches from joining the movement of women wrestlers. The whole wrestling world understood that Yogeshwar was eating a liar from Brijbhushan’s plate. He accused Yogeshwar of making derogatory remarks about ‘jawans’ of the Indian Army, students and people from the minority community. Vinesh said that Yogeshwar could not win any election because he is a traitor and a ‘poisonous cobra’.

He said, ‘You have fallen on your face twice in the elections because of betrayal to the society. I claim that you will never win elections in life because the society is always wary of poisonous snakes and never lets it set foot. Vinesh warns Yogeshwar that he better not try to break the mental fortitude of women wrestlers as they cannot be defeated by an ‘insensitive person’ like her.
