In Fatehpur district of UP, a youth preparing for police recruitment committed suicide by making serious allegations against the police. The deceased youth also made a video before committing suicide, in which he accused the local police of torturing him. The villagers saw his body hanging, after which the police and family were informed. After this his body was cremated. But the very next day it was revealed through video that he had ended his life after being fed up with police torture.
According to the information, Ramratan’s body was found in a tube well on 15 November 2023 in Semra village of Thariyav police station area of Fatehpur district. In this case, the police had picked up many people for questioning. In this connection, on the basis of suspicion, the police brought Ramroop Lodhi, a resident of Manpur village of Hussainganj police station area, to the police station on January 27. It is alleged that the police beat him up and tortured him severely in the police station. Not only this, the police had put a lot of pressure on him to confess to the crime.
Even after this, Ramroop did not confess to the crime, so the police were forced to release him. But he was asked to come to the police station again on January 29 for questioning. Frightened, the young man reached home with his cousin and narrated his entire ordeal to his family members and remained troubled throughout the night. In the morning, without telling anyone, he left the house and committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree outside the village. But before dying, the young man made a video mentioning the torture by the police. Throwed the mobile in the field.
The villagers who went towards the fields in the morning saw a young man hanging from a tree. The family members of the deceased were informed about this incident. The family members reached the spot, removed the body from the tree, informed the police and performed the last rites. After this, the brother found the deceased’s mobile phone from the spot on the next day. In this, before dying, the deceased youth had mentioned the torture done by the police. It is being told that the deceased youth was also preparing for UP Police recruitment.
Shyam Singh, brother of the deceased, told that on the instructions of Thariyav police station in-charge, the police picked up his brother. He was beaten a lot in the police station. By pointing guns at him, the policemen forced him to confess to the crime of murder. When he reached home his brother was crying a lot. He was very scared. His eyes were swollen. There were injury marks at many places on the body. He was called again on the 29th. He was very scared by this. Instead of going to the police station, he committed suicide by hanging himself.
Shobhraj Lodhi, cousin of the deceased, said that the police had threatened Ramroop that if he did not confess to the crime, they would ruin his entire life. He was preparing for recruitment in UP Police. The policemen had asked for money to release him. We want that strictest legal action should be taken against the accused policemen. CO City Veer Singh said that a case of murder of a person named Ram Ratan Raidas has been registered in Thariyav police station. Ramroop Lodhi, resident of Hussainganj, was interrogated in connection with this case. He was called to the police station on 27 January. He was interrogated on the basis of CDR and evidence. He was called back for questioning on January 29. But he committed suicide on January 28 itself. The video made by him has been posted on social media. The Police is investigating.
