Sagar News: Navdunia Representative, Sagar. After displacement in Nauradehi sanctuary, most of the forest area in Dongargaon range has become vacant. Therefore, to increase the number of tigers in this area of the tiger reserve, a pair of tigers have been released. At present the tiger and tigress will be kept under observation for one year. After that tourists will be able to visit in the next season.

Dr. AA Ansari, Deputy Director of Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve, said that after the formation of the Tiger Reserve, continuous efforts are being made for better habitat for the tigers by rapidly relocating the villages in the reserve area. Under this, these tigers and tigresses were brought. They were released on the banks of river Vyarama near the displaced village Mahaka of Dongargaon range of Tiger Reserve under Narsinghpur district. Both the tigers and tigresses are fitted with radio collars, which are being constantly monitored. Among these tigers, the female tiger has been named N-4 and the male tiger has been named N-5. Deputy Director Ansari says that the Tiger Reserve has been notified along with Madhya Pradesh in September 2023. Its objective is to develop the habitat of tigers here. When this area was known as Nauradehi Sanctuary, tigers were found here, but after 2011, tigers were not seen here. In the year 2018, a tiger-tigress pair was released in Nauradehi Sanctuary under the National Tiger Conservation Project. At present only two-three villages of Dongargaon range of Tiger Reserve are left for displacement and most of the area has become vacant. Keeping this in mind, it was decided that tigers should be released in this area to develop tiger habitat. On this basis the proposal was sent to the forest headquarters. After permission from the forest headquarters, a male and female tiger brought from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve on March 27 have been released near Vyarama river in Mahaka area of Dongargaon range.

Very favorable environment for tigers

Nauradehi Tiger Reserve, rich in biodiversity, is known for its grasslands. The environment here is very favorable for forest animals. This area which was devoid of tigers is now inhabited by tigers. This tiger reserve is not only suitable for tigers, it was also said to be suitable for African leopards. African leopards can also be brought here in future.

Raised the village, tigers will settle there

Deputy Director of Tiger Reserve, Dr. Ansari said that after the displacement of Hardikar village in Dongar village, a huge guard has emerged. This is a very wide area. The forest here comes in Narsinghpur district. In such a situation, work is underway on a plan to bring more tigers here for the purpose of tourism in future.
