Prajatantra: Rift in MVA in Maharashtra, Congress and Uddhav’s Shiv Sena face to face, Pawar also angry

[ad_1]

Less than a month is left for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, seats are not being distributed in the Indian alliance. Differences in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra have come to the fore. The decision of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) to announce its first list of candidates for the elections has become a matter of controversy. Congress has objected to UBT’s claim on three key seats. At the same time, Sharad Pawar is also angry with this step of Uddhav Thackeray. Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam attacked the Army (UBT) and accused it of violating “coalition dharma”.

what is the matter

Actually, Uddhav Thackeray’s party has declared its candidates on 16 seats on Wednesday. There are many such seats on which Congress wanted to field its candidates. Like Sangli and Mumbai South Central seat. Anil Desai’s name has been announced from Mumbai South Central Lok Sabha seat while Congress wanted to field Varsha Gaikwad from here. Uddhav Thackeray faction continuously claims that their party will contest elections on 22 Lok Sabha seats. In such a situation, the party has announced its candidates on 17 seats. The controversy is even bigger because continuous talks are going on in Maha Vikas Aghadi. In such a situation, Uddhav Thackeray has released a list which has angered Congress and Sharad Pawar.

Shiv Sena’s (UBT) argument

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said that his party stands firm on its decision to contest elections from Sangli Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. He said that no one should do anything that will directly help the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said that Shiv Sena (UBT) has also given Amravati seat to Congress. He said that Congress has been given Ramtek seat so Shiv Sena (UBT) will contest from Mumbai North. He said that the constituent parties need to strengthen and expand the alliance. Raut said, “Congress has to lead the country and we support the party in its efforts. Will Congress give up the fight against BJP for just one seat (Sangli)?” He said if the opposition alliance remains united as a unit, the MVA can easily win the Sangli seat.

Congress angry

Maharashtra Congress legislature party leader Balasaheb Thorat had urged Shiv Sena (UBT) to reconsider its decision, saying MVA constituents should follow “coalition dharma”. Former Maharashtra CM and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said there is nothing new in yesterday’s list. We are still discussing the Mumbai seats, so more or less we have reached an agreement, maybe there is an issue with NCP on one or two seats and a few seats with Shiv Sena. Today we are meeting to make the campaign strategy and this issue will also be discussed. Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam said that one seat in Mumbai has been left for Congress as a dole. I am protesting this decision. I also condemn Shiv Sena and also condemn the Congress leadership which held talks with Shiv Sena. The candidate declared by Shiv Sena for Mumbai North-West is accused of corruption…I will not work for such a Khichdi Chor candidate. He said that it seems that the party leadership is not worried about its workers.

Sharad Pawar angry

The announcement of the list of 17 candidates by the Thackeray group in the backdrop of Lok Sabha elections has raised the political temperature in Maharashtra. Now Sharad Pawar is said to be angry amid the war of words between the Uddhav group and Congress leaders. Pawar’s argument was that the seat sharing of the constituent parties should have been announced jointly in front of the media. But this did not happen. At the same time, NCP-SCP spokesperson Vidya Chavan said that out of the 6 Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai, North East Mumbai seat truly belongs to NCP (SCP). Our demand is that the seat should be allotted to us. If Shiv Sena (UBT) does not want to give us that, then two of our leaders are willing to contest from the Central Mumbai seat. We cannot harass our workers so much. Therefore, if Maha Vikas Aghadi contests elections together, everyone should do so happily. He said that Shiv Sena (UBT) is our ally. Out of the 4 seats for which he has announced names, he should give us our due seat. If they don’t do this, we will think what to do… I am sure Sharad Pawar will bring this seat to us.
