Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election 2024: Just a few months after becoming MLA, the proposal to contest Lok Sabha elections thrilled Gumansingh Damor.
Ratlam MP Guman Singh Damor.

HighLights

  1. Got a chance to contest elections from the assembly seat for the first time in the year 2018.
  2. Only a few months had passed and meanwhile the Lok Sabha elections came in the year 2019.
  3. Got a proposal from the party that you have to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Yashwant Singh Panwar, Jhabua. Whenever God gives, by tearing the roof…if this saying is seen in the context of Ratlam MP Gumansingh Damor, it seems appropriate. After retirement from government job, he got a chance to contest elections for the first time in the year 2018 from Jhabua assembly seat. There was a great victory also.

It had been only a few months since I started working as an MLA that in the year 2019, the Lok Sabha elections came. BJP was making a strategy to defeat veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria from Ratlam-Jhabua parliamentary constituency. During this time the name of Guman Singh Damor came up. The ticket has been fixed. Guman Singh says that when suddenly I got a proposal from the party that I have to contest the elections, I felt a very exciting feeling.

Got the opportunity for two reasons

Guman Singh was in the election field as a new face. There were two reasons for getting this opportunity. First, Guman Singh had attracted everyone’s attention by winning the traditional assembly seat of Congress like Jhabua. He also had a contest with Dr. Vikrant Bhuria, son of the then MP Kantilal Bhuria. As soon as Jhabua fort collapsed, he was considered politically lucky for BJP. The then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had come to Jhabua and said in a meeting that the first political target was on his son. Now the second target is being targeted at the father.

The thrill of meeting PM Modi

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi was meeting the MPs who won the 2019 elections, newly elected MP Guman Singh was also very excited. PM Modi asked a direct question in the meeting and asked the reason for the victory. Guman Singh replied that his fleet was also crossed by the name of Modi.

two posts in six months

Even though BJP has canceled Guman Singh’s ticket this time, he will always be remembered for his record in the political history of the region. He has become the first leader of the region who became MLA and later MP by winning two elections in a period of just six months. Guman Singh says that everything has happened because of the love of the people. Let us tell you, this time Anita Nagarsingh Chauhan has been made the candidate from BJP.
