Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election 2024: Congress will make OBC reservation an issue in Madhya Pradesh
Congress is preparing for Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha elections.

HighLights

  1. 13 percent posts are being kept withheld due to the unclear status of OBC reservation.
  2. In the 2018 assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Congress had raised the issue of OBC reservation.
  3. State Congress President Jitu Patwari says that the government only pretends to be OBC friendly.

Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election 2024: Navdunia State Bureau, Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Congress will make OBC reservation an issue in the Lok Sabha elections. In the election campaign, BJP will be under siege for not giving the benefit of 27 percent reservation in government jobs to the youth.

It will also be told that the then Kamal Nath government of Congress had given 27 percent reservation to OBC (Other Backward Classes) but the Bharatiya Janata Party government has again reduced it to 14 percent. Due to this the backward class is suffering a loss of 13 percent. It is noteworthy that 13 percent of the posts in the appointments are being kept on hold due to the unclear status of OBC reservation.

In the 2018 assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Congress had raised the issue of OBC reservation. As soon as Congress came to power, the Assembly had implemented the system by passing a bill to increase the reservation of Other Backward Classes in public services from 14 to 27 percent, but the matter got so entangled in the courts that its benefit has not been achieved till now.

BJP blames Congress’s faulty system for this, but Congress claims that despite being in power for three and a half years, no effort was made to provide the OBCs their rights. Out of all the appointments that are being made, only 14 per cent of the posts are being given as per OBC reservation. 13 percent posts have been kept on hold. The matter regarding this is pending in the High Court.

State Congress President Jitu Patwari says that the government only pretends to be OBC friendly. No concrete efforts have been made so far to ensure that OBC youth get their rights. They also tried to stop OBC reservation in local body elections and blamed Congress but the truth has come out.

The party will raise this matter prominently in its election campaign and will tell how injustice is being done to the OBC, Scheduled Caste and Tribe class in the country and the state. Rahul Gandhi is raising this very issue and when caste based calculation is done then the situation will be revealed to everyone.
