At the age of 40, Nabi Hasan has contested elections 15 times from Panch to Lok Sabha. In this, he has also won Panchayat level posts thrice.
Contested elections for the post of Panch for the first time
Nabi Hasan told that he used to work as an interior decorator in Kolkata. Had come to the village after father’s death. At the same time, Panchayat elections were about to be held and the supporters talked about contesting the elections and contested the elections. He won in this and became a judge. After this, he started participating in different elections and he contested in the elections 15 times one after the other.
Nabi Hasan has participated in all the elections so far. Apart from some of the Panchayat level elections, he could not even save his deposit in others. Despite this, he is busy in discussing with his supporters to contest elections from Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency for the 16th time.
Has also contested assembly elections in 2010
Nabi Hasan says that he was first elected Panch from Gram Panchayat Milky Kazichak in 2006. Encouraged by this, he contested for ward councilor from Sahebganj Nagar Panchayat in 2008 but could not win. Despite this his enthusiasm did not diminish. He filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Sahebganj in the 2010 assembly elections and contested. His security deposit was confiscated in this election.
Nabi Hasan again contested the election of ward councilor from Sahebganj Nagar Panchayat in 2013 against his mother. Even after this, his courage did not diminish and in 2014 he tried his luck from Vaishali Lok Sabha but did not win. After this, Nabi started being in the headlines in every election. He has also contested the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman.
Had also made preparations to contest MLC elections
Nabi told that he was preparing to contest MLC elections in 2015. Mother’s health deteriorated at the last moment. Could not enroll upon purchase receipt. After this, he stood in the elections of Sahebganj Nagar Panchayat in 2018. He won this election. Then he contested for the post of Deputy Chairman but failed.
Tried luck twice in Lok Sabha elections
In 2019, he again contested the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate. This time also Nabi Hasan’s bail was confiscated. Despite this his courage has not diminished. Nabi Hasan is once again discussing with his supporters in the general elections 2024. Nabi Hasan says that if his supporters ask him to contest the elections, then he will once again contest from Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 general elections.
