Sidhu, who has made direct attacks on BJP and made below the belt attacks, is avoiding saying anything against BJP leaders and PM Modi. So should it be assumed that like Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Navjot Sidhu is also looking for a place in BJP? There is no concrete reason behind saying this but these 4 reasons are no less than concrete.
Sidhu is not spitting fire against BJP
There is a lot of philosophical feeling in whatever Sidhu is writing on social media these days. On 28th, he tweets in Hindi that ‘Neither did I fall nor did any tower of my hopes fall, but in trying to bring me down, every person fell again and again!!!’ On Monday, January 29, at around 2 pm, he posted an interview with a TV channel. On listening to it, it seems that he is avoiding saying anything against BJP. The journalist asks him the question, was BJP behind your arrest? While replying, Sidhu avoids holding BJP directly responsible. What was his experience with BJP? In response to this question, he says that he has no quarrel with BJP. Sidhu says that BJP chose the alliance – chose Badal, I chose Punjab. What do you see as your future in Congress? In response to this, Sidhu says that I see the future of Punjab. – Meaning that he wants to say that he does not see any future in Congress.
Many close to Sidhu have joined BJP
Last month, news came that Kamaljit Singh Kadawal, close to Punjab Congress leader Sidhu and Congress incharge of Ludhiana’s Atma Nagar, has resigned from the primary membership of the party and has joined BJP. Kamaljit Singh Kadawal has joined BJP with his entire team. BJP state president Sunil Jakhar made him join the party. Due to internal factionalism in Congress, last year, Ashwani Sekhri, a traditional Congressman from Batala and Majha and 62-year-old senior leader of Punjab Congress, had also left Congress and joined BJP. Sekhri is also considered very close to Navjot Singh Sidhu. It was Sidhu who got Sekhri the Congress seat from Batala in the 2022 assembly elections and Sidhu had also conducted powerful rallies in favor of Sekhri. However, in 2022, he lost to Aam Aadmi Party candidate Amansher Singh Kalsi.
BJP also needs a strong leader like Sidhu in Punjab
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party has become the party of the entire country. The North-East has been conquered. Leaving aside only two states in the South, Punjab is the only state in the North where BJP is unable to do anything it wants to. The way PM Modi takes interest in the affairs of Punjab, it seems that strengthening BJP in Punjab is one of his main objectives.
All the prominent leaders of Punjab Congress have joined BJP but BJP is not able to do anything on the ground. Even after former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and former Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar joining BJP, the party remains the fourth largest party in the state. Captain Amarinder’s age comes in the way of his being active. Due to being a Hindu, Jakhar is not able to strengthen BJP among the Jat chieftains. Akali Dal has not been able to join NDA yet. According to Sidhu, one of the reasons for his leaving Bharatiya Janata Party was BJP’s alliance with Akali Dal. If BJP does not bring Akali Dal along, then Navjot Singh will also get an excuse to join BJP and BJP will need such a personality. Will be found who can become the face of the party.
Aam Aadmi Party will not accept, Congress’s future is bleak
Due to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, now it is difficult for Sidhu to enter the Aam Aadmi Party. There was a time when it seemed that Sidhu could be a contender for the post of Chief Minister in the Aam Aadmi Party. But the matter could not be resolved. Now Sidhu has opened such a front against Aam Aadmi Party and CM Bhagwant Mann that he has become a symbol of opposition to the Punjab government. In such a situation, there is no place left for him in the Aam Aadmi Party. Sidhu also knows that due to the kind of infighting going on in Punjab Congress, Congress government is not likely to be formed in Punjab and Center in future also. In such a situation, if talks are held with BJP then nothing can be better than this for Sidhu.
