Prime Minister Modi said that it is a matter of great honor to address the joint session of the US Congress for the second time. PM Modi said that on behalf of 140 crore Indians, I express my gratitude for this honour.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it was always a great honor to address the US Congress and to do so twice is an extraordinary privilege.
PM Modi said, “It is always a great honor to address the US Congress. To do so twice is an extraordinary privilege. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the 1.4 billion people of India for this honor.”
PM Modi further said, “I see that almost half of you were here in 2016. I can also see the enthusiasm of old friends and new friends in the other half.”
Let us tell you that this is the first time for any Indian Prime Minister when he is addressing the joint house for the second time.
PM Modi is the second world leader after Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to have been given the privilege of addressing the joint house more than once.
PM Modi said in the US Congress that we believe in the motto of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. The world is one family for us. Our engagement with the world is for the benefit of everyone. The same spirit is reflected in the One Earth, One Family, One Future theme when we preside over the G20 Summit.
PM Modi said that we are one-sixth of the world’s population. When India gained its independence in the last century, it inspired many other countries to free themselves from colonial rule. In this century, when India sets a benchmark and develops, it will inspire many other countries to do the same. Our vision is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.
