Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain has made a big claim regarding the ASI survey report of Gyanvapi Mosque. He said that the copying department office of the District Judge has handed him the ASI survey report of Gyanvapi Masjid. The total number of pages of this report is said to be 839. Vishnu Shankar held a press conference on Thursday regarding this report and made many claims.

Actually, after the court order, ASI survey of Gyanvapi Masjid was conducted. On December 18, ASI had submitted its report in the District Judge’s court. After this, the Hindu side had demanded that a copy of the survey report be handed over to both the parties. On this, on Wednesday 24 January 2024, the District Court had ordered all the parties to submit the survey report.

Vishnu Shankar claimed that on the GPR survey, ASI has said that it can be said that there was a big grand Hindu temple here, a big Hindu temple was present before the present structure. He claimed that according to ASI, the western wall of the present structure is part of an earlier large Hindu temple. There is a pre-existing structure here which was built on top of it.

The Hindu side further cited the report and claimed that the pillars and plaster of the mosque have been reused for the mosque with slight modifications. The pillars of the Hindu temple were slightly modified and used for the new structure. An attempt was made to erase the carvings on the pillars. 32 such inscriptions have been found here which belong to the old Hindu temple. Inscriptions of Devanagari texts, Telugu and Kannada have been found.

The Hindu side lawyer claimed that Mahamukti Mandap is a very important word which is found in its inscription. During the survey, a stone inscription was found, the broken part of which was already with the ASI. The pillars of the earlier temple have been reused. Statues of Hindu Gods and Goddesses have been found in the basement, which were filled with soil beneath the basement. It is completely clear that the western wall is a part of the Hindu temple. The Hindu temple was demolished in the 17th century and the present structure was built from its demolished debris. The pillars of the temple have been rescued.

The court had ordered to hand over the hard copy of the report.

In fact, the lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain present in the court from the Hindu side had continuously insisted that a copy of the report should be provided on the email of the parties. Regarding this, an objection was raised by ASI that the report can be tampered over email and the report can also become a victim of cyber fraud. Therefore, only its hard copy should be provided. The Muslim side also agreed on this. After this, the District Judge had ordered to give hard copy of ASI’s Gyanvapi survey report to the parties.
