Addressing more than 50 lakh first-time voters through video conferencing at the Namo Navvotata Sammelan organized by BJP’s Yuva Morcha – Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha at 5 thousand 800 places in the country, Prime Minister Modi appealed to the youth for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Urging people to definitely vote, he said, today when the country is working on the goal of becoming a developed India by 2047, your vote will decide what will be the direction of India. Just as the youth of India had the responsibility of liberating the country 25 years before 1947, in the same way, you have the responsibility of building a developed India till 2047 i.e. in 25 years. Your one vote and the direction of the country’s development are interconnected. Your one vote will make India the third largest economy in the world. Your one vote will bring a stable and large majority government in India. Your one vote will further accelerate the pace of reforms in India. Your one vote will give more energy to the digital revolution. Your one vote will take India to space on its own. Your one vote will build the first passenger aircraft in India. Your one vote will further enhance India’s credibility in the world.
Enumerating the benefits of a strong and stable government with full majority in the country, the Prime Minister said, when there is a stable government, the country takes big decisions, solves the problems that have been pending for decades and moves forward. Our government with full majority ended decades of wait by removing Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Our government with full majority ended the four-decade wait of the country’s ex-servicemen by implementing One Rank, One Pension for the army personnel. We have a government with full majority which ended the years-long wait of the women of the country by enacting the Nari Shakti Vandan Act. It is our government which increased the hope of justice among Muslim sisters and daughters by making triple talaq law. This is our government which implemented the new National Education Policy after waiting for three decades. This is our government which, while protecting the interests of SC, ST, OBC, also made a provision of 10 percent reservation for poor youth. It is our government which got the opportunity to witness the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
Prime Minister Modi, along with the achievements of his government, also attacked the opposition parties fiercely, pointing out to the youth the difference between the India before 2014 and the India after he became the Prime Minister.
He said that the generations before 2014 had given up hope of the achievements we are talking about today. Earlier, news of corruption and scams used to become headlines every day. Scams worth crores of rupees were common. He said that he is happy that he was able to bring the country out of that dark situation. Today it is not about corruption but about credibility. Today we talk about success stories and not scams.
He criticized the opposition parties, calling the family based parties opposed to the youth. Calling upon the youth to vote themselves as well as inspire others to vote, he said, this is the first opportunity in my life to interact with so many youth and perhaps for any politician in the world. This is the first opportunity. I salute all the new voters. The age of 18 to 25 years is such when one’s life becomes witness to many changes. Amidst these changes, you all have to fulfill another responsibility together. This is the responsibility of participating in the world’s largest democracy. This time cycle is very important for two reasons – first, all of you have become voters at a time when India’s golden age has started. Second, tomorrow on 26th January the country will celebrate its 75th Republic Day. The next 25 years are important both for you and for India.
