Opposition Meet: Today an important meeting of 18 opposition parties is going to be held in Patna, Bihar. This is believed to be the biggest meeting of the opposition in the last few years. This meeting is also considered important because the Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the country after about 9 months.
The Aam Aadmi Party is opposing the Central Government’s Delhi Ordinance regarding control over administrative officers in Delhi and it is trying to garner support from all opposition parties against it. In such a situation, the effect of this issue can be clearly seen in the meeting to be held today.
A leader close to the Aam Aadmi Party says that if the Congress does not give its support against the Delhi Ordinance in the meeting to be held today, then the AAP may walk away from the meeting. In such a situation, the unity of the opposition meeting is expected to suffer a major setback.
Let us tell you that on May 20, President Draupadi Murmu had passed this ordinance, the purpose of which was to neutralize the order of the Supreme Court. It has been said in this ordinance that for taking any kind of decision, the votes of the Chief Minister and two administrative officers will be counted and decisions will be taken on the basis of majority, which the Aam Aadmi Party government is opposing.
Though several opposition parties have expressed their support to Kejriwal, the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are bitter rivals in Delhi and the Congress has remained tight-lipped on the issue.
Kejriwal had sought an appointment with Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, but both the leaders have not met him. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes will be on the meeting between the two leaders in today’s meeting.

It is believed that Congress will not support Kejriwal under pressure. Two senior party leaders told that there is no pressure on Congress to support AAP on this issue.
