INDIA Why did Nitish Kumar leave the alliance in the middle? The real reason has now come to light

[ad_1]

In Bihar, BJP and Nitish Kumar will stick to the 2020 formula to share cabinet berths. The Bihar chief minister last week – for the fifth time in a decade – switched sides and formed a new government in partnership with the BJP, which he had quit in 2022. He took oath along with two BJP MLAs on Sunday. Sources said that the Council of Ministers will be expanded in the next few days and after that the departments will be divided. The important home department will remain with Kumar. Sources indicated that in the coming days, both the parties will also discuss seat sharing for the Lok Sabha elections, but the earlier 17-17 formula for the 40 parliamentary seats of Bihar will have to be changed.

This is because seats will also have to be allotted for new allies, which also includes Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM. Sources said Nitish had made up his mind to leave the opposition on January 13, the day he was holding a video meeting. Angered by Rahul Gandhi, he left the meeting 10 minutes earlier. Sources said what pushed them to the final step was Rahul Gandhi’s response that he would consult Mamata Banerjee on the post of India Bloc coordinator. Shortly after this, the leaders elected him as the convener. But sources said an angry Kumar rejected the post and said it could be given to Lalu Yadav.

For the post of Speaker, the suggestion was Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, whose name was also proposed by Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal as the opposition’s prime ministerial candidate in the previous meeting. Janata Dal (United) held the Congress responsible for the breakup of the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India) in Bihar and said its leaders were busy strengthening their own party, not the opposition alliance. JD(U) spokesperson K. C. Tyagi told reporters that a “faction” within the Congress wanted to grab the leadership of the ‘India’ alliance and as part of the conspiracy, the name of leader Mallikarjun Kharge was proposed as the president of the alliance.

Tyagi said that coordination could not be established between Indian parties. From outside everything seemed normal but Congress was doing politics with the alliance parties. While we were working to strengthen the alliance, Congress was busy grabbing important posts. They were trying to weaken SP, DMK, TMC and other regional parties. Once Rahul Gandhi had said that regional parties have no ideology. For this reason we broke ties with the alliance.

He said that earlier in the meeting held in Mumbai, it was unanimously decided that the India alliance will run without any PM face… As part of a conspiracy, Kharge’s name was proposed to Mamata Banerjee as the PM face. All other parties have created their own identity by fighting against Congress. Congress continued to argue over seat sharing, we kept saying that seat sharing should happen immediately. He clearly said that the India alliance lacks a plan to fight against the BJP.
