Harish Salve Letter to CJI: Amidst the Lok Sabha election campaign, 600 lawyers of the country including senior advocate Harish Salve wrote a letter to Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. In which he expressed concern about raising questions on the judiciary. This letter has been sent to CJI Chandrachud on behalf of senior advocates Harish Salve, Manan Kumar Mishra, Adish Aggarwal, Chetan Mittal, Pinky Anand, Hitesh Jain, Ujjwala Pawar, Uday Holla, Swaroopama Chaturvedi and more than 600 lawyers from across the country. It has been said in Chiddi that a particular group is trying to weaken the integrity of the judiciary. On which he has expressed serious concern.

What did the lawyers write in the letter?

In a letter written to the CJI, the lawyers have said that this group is adopting pressure tactics to influence judicial decisions. In this letter, the lawyers have said that this particular group praises or criticizes the court decisions based on its political agenda. The lawyers who wrote the letter allege that it is strange that politicians accuse someone of corruption and then defend them in court. In such a situation, if the court’s decision is not in their favor, then they criticize the court either inside the court or in the media.

It has been said in this letter that some elements are trying to influence the judges or even put pressure on the judges to give decisions in their favor in some selected cases. For this they are spreading lies on social media. Their efforts are to influence the court for personal or political reasons. These cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
