Indore. A regional investor awareness program was organized at Malvanchal University under the joint aegis of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and National Stock Exchange (NSE). The main objective of this program was to make everyone aware about financial education to women, information about securities market, role of SEBI Board created for the interest of investors and financial independence of women. Present on the occasion were Chief Guest Kamlesh Chandra Varshney, Whole Time Member, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Joginder Singh, Northern Regional Head – Regulatory Affairs, NSE. On this occasion, Index Group Chairman Suresh Singh Bhadauria, Malvanchal University Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Narang, Registrar Dr. Lokeshwar Singh Jodhana, IQAC Director Dr. Rauli Aggarwal welcomed all the guests.

Kamlesh Chandra Varshney, Whole Time Member, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) explained in detail about the different ways of saving as well as investment methods at different stages of life. He said that new guidelines are being made by SEBI keeping in mind the interests of investors. The objective of organizing such awareness programs in Indore is to make young investors aware. Especially in today’s time, in order to make money through YouTubers and social media, many times the youth invest money in the wrong shares. With the aim of making people aware, investors are benefiting from the joint efforts of SEBI, NSE and BSE in Indore.

He said that SEBI has taken very concrete steps against defrauding investors by any intermediary in the stock market, such as agents, brokers, companies and merchant bankers etc. Now SEBI is keeping an eye on the entire market through AI. He said that investors can register their complaints by visiting the Scores website. SEBI has also recently released Sarathi App, by downloading which investors can make safe investments. India is continuously progressing as a developing country. The position of the country’s economy is strengthening in many sectors like exports, agriculture, MSME and start-ups. This is the right time for people to get detailed information about the stock market, so that they can understand the right and safe way to invest while keeping their interests in mind and move towards better financial management.

In the second session, Joginder Singh of National Stock Exchange gave detailed information about the role of stock exchange in the stock market. He told that today fake stock market applications of many big companies have also started being made. Due to this, many times investors’ money gets invested in the wrong place. To avoid this, you can take help from the websites of SEBI and National Stock Exchange. Along with this, before investing, investors should invest only through a registered agent, keeping in mind the company’s balance sheet, previous years’ performance and SEBI parameters.

He said that before buying any share or anything, you should not focus only on the price. You get anything free in the world only when people consider you as a product. Therefore, before investing in the share market, it is most important to analyze with focus and patience. An investor should also keep in mind that if you only know how to ride a bicycle, then do not try to fly a rocket. Otherwise no one can save you from losing your money.
