Archisha Sinha, a class 6 student of Carmel School, Ambikapur, a leading educational institution of North Chhattisgarh, committed suicide by hanging herself at home on Tuesday night. Before committing suicide, he also wrote a suicide note in English. In the suicide note, the student has blamed the school teacher Sister Mercy for her death. He wrote, Sister Mercy is very dangerous. Because of this he has no other option but to die.

I will take such a step and take revenge from Sister Mercy, so that this does not happen to other children. Sister Mercy has no right to live. On this basis, the police have arrested Sister Mercy. The deceased was the daughter of Alok Sinha, sub engineer of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. The police recovered the body in the night itself. A suicide note was also recovered from the spot. As soon as the news of the incident was received in the morning, the school management declared holiday in the school through WhatsApp. Parents also rallied, blaming the management for the death. On behalf of the parents’ association, they met Superintendent of Police Vijay Aggarwal and demanded the immediate arrest of the teacher.

On the other hand, officials of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha demonstrated strongly outside Carmel School located at Namanakala. In view of the serious allegations against the school management, the side of the relatives of the deceased and the school management was taken. Under the leadership of SDM Fagesh Sinha, District Education Officer Dr. Sanjay Guhe and Additional Superintendent of Police Puplesh Kumar, the police and administrative staff went to the school and made inquiries. The protesting BJYM workers were pacified by assuring them of appropriate action. In the evening, the police arrested teacher Sister Mercy on charges of inducing a minor to commit suicide. The student has also been a class topper.

The student wrote in the suicide note

The student has written that on February 6, Sister Mercy snatched the ID cards of her and her two friends. His friends told him that Sister Mercy would now take him to the principal and call his parents. The student has also written that please save her friends from giving punishment. In the end the student has written that she loves her parents very much. All his friends should be invited to his funeral. Post mortem of his dead body should not be done.

Father said- save other children

The student’s father Alok Sinha says that his daughter had talked to him on video call on Tuesday evening, during which he had gone to Raipur for some work. The daughter did not mention any such thing during the conversation. She told that in the past, when the girl was harassed, she had also raised this matter in front of the school management. After this, the girl was again scolded by the teacher the next day. In such a situation, the daughter had stopped telling about being harassed in school. Most children also do the same. Saddened by the death of his daughter, the student’s father Alok Kumar tearfully said that please save the other children of Carmel School…they are very innocent.
