After the murder of INLD leader and former MLA Nafe Singh Rathi in Haryana, his family members are now being threatened with death. Nafe Singh’s two sons allegedly received threatening calls from an unknown number on Thursday. The family says that they received 18 phone calls. The family has also been instructed not to talk to the media about the murder. Haryana Police says that the caller is being traced on the basis of the complaint.

Nafe Singh’s car was parked on the road due to the gate being closed at the railway crossing. Meanwhile, the miscreants who came in a car opened fire. Nafe Singh Rathi and Jai Kishan died on the spot in the incident. Haryana government has decided to hand over the investigation of this case to CBI.

’18 phone calls came from unknown numbers’

Kapoor Singh Rathi said, our uncle’s (Nafe Singh Rathi) elder son Bhupinder and younger son Jatinder have received 18 threatening calls from unknown phone numbers. Kapoor Singh said, the caller has also sent us a picture of a weapon, in which he claimed that if we do not stop talking to the media, he will use it to eliminate the family. Kapoor Singh Rathi said, Bhupinder’s wife is a councillor. Whereas Jatinder is also a councilor in Bahadurgarh.

‘The person making the threat has been identified’

Jhajjar SP Dr. Arpit Jain said, they are investigating the threat. The person making the threat has been identified and will be arrested soon. One Bijendra Rathi has been arrested. Notice has been given. Our team is raiding different places. All the accused will be arrested as soon as possible. Verification of social media posts is underway.

‘Haryana Police is interrogating the accused’

Here, Haryana Police is interrogating the accused today. Line crossing police station of Bahadurgarh has issued a notice to the accused and called them for questioning. Congress leaders Bijendra Rathi and Sandeep Rathi have reached the police station. Former BJP MLA from Bahadurgarh Naresh Kaushik and Municipal Council Vice Chairman Rajpal alias Paleram Sharma have also been called to the police station. Even after 5 days the police are still empty handed in this case. The shooters who committed the crime are also absconding.

‘Police are investigating the authenticity of social media’

Earlier on Thursday, Jhajjar Police said that information is being collected about the alleged post of gangster Kapil Sangwan on social media. Sangwan lives in the UK and has claimed responsibility for the murder of Nafe Singh Rathi through post. The post also claimed that Rathi had a close friendship with Sangwan’s rival gangster.

‘So far FIR against 15 people’

A Jhajjar police official said that we are verifying the post and the claims made in it. So far, FIR has been registered against 15 people in the murder case. However, when Kapoor Singh Rathi was asked to comment on the alleged social media post by Sangwan, he rejected any gang rivalry angle behind the two murders.

‘Rathi family has no enmity with anyone’

He said, if anyone has noticed, the Facebook account was activated only a few hours before the post was uploaded. After a few hours, when the post went viral, the account was closed.

‘Five unknown accused mentioned in the FIR’

Police have named former BJP MLA Naresh Kaushik and others in the FIR registered on Monday. There is also mention of five unknown accused. The case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including 302 (murder) and the Arms Act. Rakesh, nephew of Nafe Singh Rathi, said in his police complaint that five unknown assailants were chasing him in a car. These people came out and fired indiscriminately near Barahi railway crossing.

‘Questions regarding security, CBI will investigate’

At the same time, this attack which took place before the Lok Sabha elections has given a sharp reaction from the opposition parties and questions are being raised on the BJP government.
