Rajasthan government had issued instructions to make Surya Namaskar mandatory in all schools, especially on the occasion of Surya Saptami on 15th February. In this context, on the instructions of Jamiat Ulema Hind President Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, an important meeting of the State Executive of Jamiat Ulema Rajasthan was organized at Muslim Musafirkhana, Jaipur.
An important meeting of the State Executive of Jamiat Ulema-e-Rajasthan was held on Monday, 12th February, under the chairmanship of Maulana Qari Mohammad Amin. In the meeting, the proposal on Surya Namaskar was presented by Maulana Abdul Wahid Khatri, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama Rajasthan.
Through the passed resolution, condemning the government order for collective Surya Namaskar by students, parents and others in all the schools on the occasion of Surya Saptami in schools, it is considered as open interference in religious matters and religious freedom given in the Constitution and Supreme Court and many others. Said to be a clear disregard for the orders of the High Courts. Also, an appeal has been made to the Muslim community not to send students to school on Surya Saptami on 15.02.2024 and boycott this function.
Meanwhile, a joint petition has been filed in the Rajasthan High Court by other Muslim organizations including Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, seeking a stay on the decision to cancel the February 15 event and make Surya Namaskar mandatory in schools. Is. Advocate Zahoor Naqvi was present in the court on behalf of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, although emphasis was laid on hearing today itself, but considering the seriousness of the matter, the court has fixed the date of 14th February.
Jamiat leaders from all over the state participated in the ongoing Jamiat meeting in Jaipur. Jamiat Ulema-Rajasthan State Executive has clarified that Sun is worshiped as God/Deity in the majority Hindu society. The verses spoken in this practice and the activities like Pranamsanna, Ashtanga Namaskar etc. are a form of worship and worship of anyone other than Allah is unacceptable in the religion of Islam. It is not possible for the Muslim community to accept this in any form or situation.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind clearly believes that imposing the beliefs of a particular religion on people of other religions under the pretext of practice in any democratic country is a flagrant violation of constitutional principles and religious freedom and is a despicable attempt. This will be opposed with full force and we will fight against it as per the democratic system of the country.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has appealed to the state government to discuss and take the Muslim community into confidence on the issue of yoga practice, so that unnecessary controversy can be avoided. Also, instructions should be issued to the concerned department to withdraw the above controversial order with immediate effect because this step will damage the democratic structure of the country and will put a question mark on the slogan of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has appealed to the Muslim community to protect the faith and belief of their new generations and not to accept any kind of pressure in this regard, because they are firm on their religious faith and belief in the Indian Constitution. Everyone has complete freedom to get education while living.
