Farmers have called for a Parliament gherao on July 22 amid protests by farmers on the borders of Delhi in protest against the three agricultural bills. In view of the mood of the farmers, the concerns of the Delhi Police officers have increased. Efforts have also started to persuade the farmers on behalf of the police. On Sunday, a team of Delhi Police will try to avoid the gherao by meeting with the farmers.

In fact, the Delhi Police wants that instead of protesting outside the Parliament, the farmers should hold their protest elsewhere. Efforts will be made to persuade the farmers for this. On the other hand, the United Kisan Morcha says that for the time being it stands by its stand. 200 farmers from 22 states across the country will march daily from 22 March to 13 August and gherao the Parliament. Kisan Morcha says that they are getting its support from all over the country.

For the past eight months, farmers have been protesting against the three agricultural laws at Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur borders. The farmers are adamant on withdrawing the laws without any conditions. Now in the past, farmers had announced that farmers from about 22 states across the country would reach the borders of Delhi to gherao the Parliament. After this, every day about 200 farmers would gather and march towards the Parliament and later protest outside the Parliament and pressurize them to withdraw all the three agricultural laws.

The United Kisan Morcha says that for this they are getting a lot of support from the farmers’ unions across the country. According to the Kisan Morcha, a special march will be taken out on 26 July and 9 August. Farmers from North-East states will also participate in this. The march and gherao have been asked to be conducted completely peacefully.

Delhi Police will try to persuade them by meeting with the farmers on Sunday. On the matter, Dharmendra Malik, media in-charge of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, says that the Parliament will be gheraoed under the pre-determined program.
