DRM Inspection News: Gwalior (NP). North Central Railway General Manager (GM) Ravindra Goyal inspected the station redevelopment work and other passenger facilities on Monday morning. During this, he saw the cleanliness system and took stock of the station redevelopment work. Seeing the broken tiles on platform number four, he expressed his displeasure and asked questions and answers to the local officials. Officials said that currently the tiles are broken due to redevelopment work. Expressing displeasure on this, the GM said that if the work is going on, will the tiles continue to be broken? This should be rectified immediately.
As the GM moved forward, employees were seen measuring the size of the tiles with a tape measure. During the inspection, when the GM looked behind him, more than half a hundred officers and employees were seen standing. On this he said that there is no need for everyone to come together for inspection. Everyone should go to their respective offices and work. After this the GM watched the presentation of the redevelopment project in the VIP lounge. After watching the presentation, he clearly told the officials that big work is being done at the station. In such a situation, special attention should be paid to quality. There should be no reduction in the quality of work. After inspection at the station, GM left to inspect the rear window trailing of Gwalior-Dholpur-Agra railway section. On this occasion, DRM Deepak Kumar Sinha, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shashikant Tripathi, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Akhil Shukla, Senior Divisional Signal and Telecom Engineer Amit Goyal, Senior Divisional Engineer Coordination Ashutosh Chaurasia, Senior Divisional Engineer North Sudhir Kumar and other officers were present.
Will consider for train till Ayodhya
During discussion with journalists, GM said that under the Gwalior-Sheopur broad gauge project, work up to Jaura will be completed by the end of February. Sheopur broad gauge work will be completed by the year 2025. He said that full care will be taken for the safety of passengers during the redevelopment work at the station. Instructions have been given to the concerned officials for this. At present there is only one weekly train from Gwalior to Ayodhya. In such a situation, on the question of operating regular trains from here, he said that as of now there is no proposal to operate trains till Ayodhya. If the proposal comes, it will be considered.
Demand for operation of heritage train in the city
BJP District Vice President Sudhir Gupta on Monday demanded to secure the engines and coaches of the narrow gauge train and run the heritage train till Motijheel. While giving a memorandum to the GM, he said that along with naming the redeveloped railway station after Madhavrao Scindia, he also demanded expansion of Narrow Gauge Heritage Scindia Museum and running of Narrow Gauge Heritage Train via Ghosipura-Motijheel. Also demanded that narrow gauge engines should not be sent out of Gwalior.
