Ambikapur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the three-day Mainpat Mahotsav on Friday. In the inauguration ceremony, he talked about strengthening Mainpat in the direction of tourism, so that people feel a sense of peace in the meeting place of both Sanatan and Buddhism.

He said that our government is working towards inclusive development of all sections of the state. Sai also congratulated the mothers and sisters and said that women power across the state will soon start receiving funds under Mahtari Vandan Yojana on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

70 lakh women from across the state have filled its form and the process of filling the form will continue so that our eligible mothers and sisters can get its benefit. He said that our government will fulfill the dream of every Chhattisgarhian to have the darshan of his nephew Shri Ram. Charan Paduka Scheme will be restarted. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced Rs 1 crore for the establishment of Jhanda Park in Narmadapur during the Mainpat Mahotsav. Also announced Rs 50 lakh every year for organizing Mainpat Mahotsav. On this occasion, Sitapur MLA Ramkumar Toppo, Lundra MLA Prabodh, Ambikapur MLA Rajesh Aggarwal were also present.

Tibetan refugees welcomed the Chief Minister

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was welcomed by Tibetan refugees in traditional attire in Tibetan style. Chief Minister Sai inspected the stalls set up by various departments. On this occasion, many adventure sports including cycling were organized by local artists. During the Mahotsav, sailing, zooming, archery, kite festival, state level cycle race, para sealing, valley crossing, hanging ball and other exciting sports will be organized. On Friday, the first day of Mainpat Mahotsav, Bollywood artists, local artists and school children gave their colorful presentations. The audience enjoyed Hindi, Chhattisgarhi, Surgujiha, Nagpuri songs. In the festival, famous comic poet Dr. Surendra Dubey, while giving a rhyme in his presentation, described the people of Surguja as a shock. His brilliant presentation left people in a trance.

During this, the atmosphere became devotional with the devotional songs of singer Manali Sankhala. Shraddha Pandit’s songs like Susral Genda Phool, Tu To Aven Aven Loot Gaya made people dance. Along with this, children of schools and colleges including Swami Atmanand Vidyalaya Narmadapur, Kasturba Residential School Narmadapur, Pahari Korwa Residential School Ghaghri gave captivating presentations.

Dangal and impersonation competition set the stage

On the occasion of Mainpat Mahotsav, various competitions were also organized by the district administration. 58 wrestlers from different districts of the state are participating in the Dangal competition. On the first day of the festival, there was fierce competition among the participants, everyone tried their best to defeat each other. The excitement of the competition remained from the beginning till the end, the spectators remained enthusiastically standing in the field to see the winning player. Similarly, Open Polygon Competition was organized in both solo and group categories, in which participants dressed in different colorful costumes reached the stage in different costumes. People also displayed their archery skills in the archery competition.

Adventure sports, boating, food zone center of attraction

People enjoyed the entertaining swings and shops in the fair at the festival site. People enjoyed the delicious dishes in the food zone set up at the venue. The sky was illuminated with colorful kites in the Fancy Kite Festival, people enjoyed boating in Ropakhar reservoir. Along with this, adventure sports like parasailing, paragliding, camping etc. organized at Mehta Point also attracted people.
