Manipur violence DCW chief Swati Maliwal:
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Tuesday met the families of two women who were paraded naked in Manipur on May 4, a video of which went viral last week.

Sharing a video of their conversation, Swati Maliwal tweeted, “Met the families of the daughters who were victims of the brutality of Manipur… Her tears will not let me sleep for days. Till now no one has come to meet her.”

In the video, Maliwal can be seen hugging and consoling a woman from the victim’s family.

Hitting out at Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and other government officials, Maliwal asked why no one had come to meet the victims so far.

In another tweet, Swati Maliwal said, met the husband of the daughter who was raped in Manipur. He fought the Kargil war for the country. He told me that you are the first one who came here to meet us. He said that ‘Delhi Commission for Women came here to us with courage and love in these difficult circumstances.’

Swati Maliwal further said, “I appeal to the Prime Minister and all the big ministers of the country, you have Z+ security, every facility. If I can reach here, you can too. Every problem can be solved with love.

After meeting the families of the victims, Swati Maliwal visited the relief camp at Moirang and told that people including women and children are living there in difficult conditions.
