While only 17 days are left for the release of Akshay Kumar’s film ‘OMG 2’, the censor board has not yet given the certificate to the film. ‘OMG 2’ is co-produced by ‘Viacom 18’. According to the report of ‘Koimoi’, the film was first set to release on Jio Cinema. For this, talks were not only being held with the OTT platform, but the deal was also finalized for Rs 90 crore. But before the deal could be sealed, it was suddenly called off.

The report quoted an insider as saying, “Viacom18 was expecting a strong offer from Jio Cinema. The deal was about to be finalized at Rs 90 crore. But then only Akshay Kumar showed interest in releasing ‘OMG 2’ in theatres. After the actor’s request for a theatrical release, the makers put the preparations for the release on OTT in abeyance.

‘Now filmmakers are regretting’

It further added, ‘Now that the film is stuck at the censor board, the makers are regretting their decision to change their mind about the OTT release.’
