Four liquor shops will be replaced, decision after protest
People are facing problems due to liquor shops in the residential areas of capital Raipur. At the same time, there is continuous protest against this. In the past, demonstrations were also seen in the Bhatagaon liquor shop. After this, tender has been floated by the Excise Department to change the location of three other liquor shops including Bhatagaon. Now their hideouts will be removed from the residential areas of the city, around schools and colleges and markets. In the tender, information has been sought from people about their warehouse, shop and commercial space. However, many people have also lodged objections to this tender.
He says that the officers of the department, in connivance with many people, have made tender rules in such a way that they can get shops to whomever they want. Tender for shops is issued every year by the Excise Department. But the officers claim that the tender is being issued only for the purpose of reducing the rent, so that the shops can be operated at a low cost. 80 lakh to one crore rupees are being spent annually in rental shops. It is claimed to reduce this expenditure every year, but there is no significant reduction in it. This time also it is being estimated that this expenditure will be more.
