Meghalaya CMO Attack: Meghalaya DGP LR Bishnoi made a big disclosure on Tuesday on the attack on the office of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday. Bishnoi said the attack on the CM’s meeting with Achik leaders at CMO Tura on July 24 was pre-planned and carried out like a conspiracy.
The DGP said that 26 people have been identified. 22 people have been arrested. The accused Richard Marak (TMC leader) was arrested by the police for inciting the violence. 18 others were arrested on the evening of 24 July. Individuals or groups involved in creating violence have been identified and will soon be behind bars. Forces have been deployed to arrest additional conspirators and monitor the law and order situation in the area.

People were instigated by distributing liquor and money
According to the DGP, liquor was distributed to the people on Sunday to instigate them. The police have also received concrete information about distribution of money at some places. Strictest action will be taken in this matter. Please tell that after the attack on Monday, there was complete peace in Tura on Tuesday. CM Konrad Sangma and leaders of civil society groups expressed shock over the attack as those attacked did not belong to their organisations. This was the first sign that the mob had come from outside.
