After Novak Djokovic’s second detention, Rafael Nadal has said whether he plays or not, the Australian Open will be a good tournament. Djokovic is almost certain to be ruled out of the tournament after his visa was revoked for the second time.

Tennis star Rafael Nadal has said that the Australian Open is more important than any one player. According to him, whether Novak Djokovic plays in this tournament or not, it will be a great tournament. World number one tennis player Novak Djokovic is currently troubled by the cancellation of his visa and his chances of playing in the Australian Open 2022 are slim. If he gets a chance to play in this tournament, he can win the 21st Grand Slam of his career and he will be the first tennis player to do so.
Djokovic has not yet got the corona vaccine and Australia has strict rules regarding it. Because of this, his visa has been canceled for the second time and he has been detained again.
Before the start of the first Grand Slam of the year on Monday, Nadal told reporters that whether Djokovic remains or not, the Australian Open will be a great tournament. He said that he respected Djokovic both as a player and as a human being. “I really respect him, even though I don’t agree with many of the things he’s done in the last two weeks,” Nadal said.
At the same time, he stressed on the focus on the game, saying “I think this matter is being given more importance. To be honest, I am a little tired of these situations, because I believe that the game is about Talking is more important.”
What is the whole matter?
Djokovic has not yet got the corona vaccine. In Australia, the rules regarding the vaccine are strict. Djokovic said that he cannot get the vaccine at the moment, citing medical problems. On this basis, he was allowed to play at the Australian Open, but after Djokovic reached Australia, he was asked for evidence of medical problems. Here it was told on his behalf that he had corona on 16 December only. In such a situation, they cannot get the vaccine at the moment. After this he was stopped at the airport itself and his visa was cancelled.
Djokovic stayed at the immigration department hotel for four days after the visa was canceled and challenged the decision in court. After the hearing, the court upheld Djokovic. All his papers were ordered to be returned and his way to the Australian Open was almost cleared. After this the Australian government canceled the player’s visa for the second time and he was again detained. Djokovic’s case is set to be heard in court on Saturday and Sunday, but he is almost impossible to play in the tournament starting January 17.
Vaccination required for tournament
The Victoria State Government has allowed only those players, officials and spectators to enter the Australian Open starting from January 17, who have received both the vaccines of Corona. Djokovic, 34, is currently at the first place in the men’s rankings. He has won a total of 84 titles including 20 Grand Slams in his career. He has a total prize money of Rs 1154 crore.
