Tension of eviction-related violence persists
On September 23, two people were killed and 20 others were injured in Assam’s Darrang district in eviction-related violence. Another input obtained from an al Qaeda video message indicated a call for jihad, particularly in Assam and Kashmir, the circular said. Al Qaeda’s ‘As Sahab’ released a propaganda video titled ‘Don’t sit idle grieving’ and called for jihad in Assam and Kashmir, showing videos on alleged lynchings of Indian Muslims, including some from Assam. All district police have been asked to take necessary preventive and precautionary measures to thwart any evil designs of global terrorist organizations and fundamental and radical elements.
