Along with this, there are also plans to make some more changes in the coach to make rail travel more comfortable. The new AC general class coaches will be manufactured at the Rail Coach Factory (RCF) in Kapurthala. RCF General Manager Ravinder Gupta said that this project will change the face of rail travel in India for the common man. Traveling in a normal second class air-conditioned coach would never have been so comfortable.
New coach layout is being finalized
The layout for the new AC General Second Class coach is being finalized and RCF hopes to have a prototype ready by the end of this year. Currently the general second class coach has a seating capacity of 100 people. At the same time, their construction costs about Rs 2.24 crore. According to the information, there will be seating for more passengers in the new AC General Second Class coach.
There will be better facilities for passengers in coaches
At the same time, better facilities will also be available for the passengers. These coaches will be used in long-distance mail or express trains that can run at a speed of 130 kilometers per hour. Non-air-conditioned coaches cannot run at speeds exceeding 110 kilometers per hour. A railway official said that Indian Railways is fully committed to provide facilities to passengers and to improve rail services.
