Names of a dozen cities will change
According to the information, the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh is going to change the names of about a dozen cities. These include from the capital Bhopal to Maheshwar and Gwalior. It is being said that the practice of changing the names of these cities is being done on the demand of the people there. This process begins with the passing of resolutions by the local bodies and is completed after the final seal of state governance.
Idgah Hills not Guru Nanak Tekri
The local Municipal Corporation has passed a resolution to send the name of Rajdhani Bhopal to Bhojpal in the name of Raja Bhoj and has been sent to the state government. Similarly, Bhopal MLA Rameshwar Sharma is demanding to change the name of Idgah Hills of the city to Gurunanak Tekri. It is said that the first Guru of the Sikhs, Nanak Devji, stayed here. According to historians, Bhopal was settled by Raja Bhoj in the 11th century. It was then named Bhoomi Pal. Historians say that it is mentioned in the books of the time. The city was re-established in the Mughal period in 1720. After this, the name was changed to Bhopal.
