Kapil Gurjar, who shot in Shaheen Bagh, the face of the CAA movement in 2019, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday. He was garlanded by party leaders and made an official member of the party. However, when this talk spread on social media, a controversy arose, after which the party fired him.

Giving official information, BJP said that today many youth from BSP came to Ghaziabad office including Kapil Gurjar. Unknown to her, she was included in the party. Subsequent information, his membership has been canceled.

After joining BJP, Kapil Gurjar has said that we are with BJP. BJP is strengthening Hindutva, wants to take Hindutva forward. I want to work for Hindutva, that’s why I joined BJP. Before this I had nothing to do with any party. I am also associated with RSS.

Kapil Gurjar fired two bullets in the air raising communal slogans near the police barricade, about 150 meters from the protest venue in Shaheen Bagh. Thankfully no one was shot. Policemen and CRPF personnel present near the barricade nabbed him and took him to Sarita Vihar police station. The accused has been identified as Kapil Gurjar, a resident of Dallupura in East Delhi. An illegal pistol was found from him.

According to the police, Kapil reached near the barricade and started shouting slogans like ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Hindu Rashtra Zindabad’, ‘Our country is Hindu nation’. Before anyone could understand anything, he took out the pistol and fired two bullets into the air. Everything happened so quickly that no one understood anything. Before the people present at the demonstration approached Kapil, the police and security personnel overpowered him. He was brought to the car and brought to the Sarita Vihar police station.
