The entry of vehicles into Connaught Place will be banned after 8 pm on 31 December. Vehicles will be given entry only after showing the pass issued by the traffic police. In view of the celebration on New Year’s Eve, adequate arrangements have been made for smooth movement of traffic throughout Delhi.
Joint Commissioner of Police Manish Kumar Aggarwal said that there will be a ban on the movement of vehicles in inner and outer circles. After 8pm on Thursday, Mandi House Golchakar, Bengali Market Golchakar, North Foot of Ranjit Singh Flyover (Barakhamba Road- Tolstoy Marg), Minto Road-Deendayal Upadhyay Crossing, RK Ashram Marg-Chitra Gupta Marg Crossing, Gol Market Golchakkar, GPO, Vehicles from Golchakkar, Patel Chowk, KG Road-Ferozeshah Road crossing, Jaisingh Road – Bangla Sahib Lane, Panchkuiya Road – Bangla Sahib Lane, Windsor Place, Buta Singh Marg Gol Chakkar and State Entry Road – New Delhi Railway Station will not be able to go further. Vehicles will be barred by barricading here.
Exit gate of Rajiv Chowk station will be closed from 9 pm
The exit gates of the Rajiv Chowk metro station will be closed from 9 pm on Thursday, in view of the possibility of congestion on New Year’s Eve. According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), passengers will be allowed to enter till the last train leaves at the station.
