According to the Meteorological Department, due to the western disturbance, there will be severe cold in Northwest India on New Year’s Eve. In the next three days, the minimum temperature may be reduced by three to five degrees. During this period, there will be severe cold wave outbreak in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and some areas of North Rajasthan.
At the same time, the normal cold wave will be affected in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha on 30 and 31 December. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till January 2 in the morning. Meanwhile, Mumbai recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius this season.
Four flights canceled in Jammu due to dense fog
Thick fog has affected the airline in Jammu. On Tuesday, four flights operated from Jammu airport were canceled, while seven others were delayed. Jammu airport director Prabhat Ranjan Beuria said flights were affected due to poor visibility. The visibility of the airport at nine in the morning was zero.
