On Tuesday, a local leader of the ruling Trinamool Congress was shot dead in Shalimar area of ​​Howrah district of West Bengal. Trinamool activists ransacked several shops to protest against the incident. According to media reports, the protesters also set fire to a house and a bike.

According to the information, young Trinamool acting president Dharmendra Singh was coming by bike from Shalimar on Tuesday afternoon. He was accompanied by another person. When he reached near Shalimar Gate number three of the B Garden Police Station area, the bike saw some miscreants opened fire on him. The miscreants had fired six rounds.

Dharmendra Singh was then taken to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. As soon as news of his death surfaced, many of his supporters gathered in the hospital premises. They started vandalizing nearby shops and buses demanding arrest of the culprits.

Meanwhile, BJP on Tuesday alleged that Trinamool Congress workers attacked party (BJP) workers during a roadshow in Suvendu Adhikari’s East Medinipur district in West Bengal recently. Although the police said that there was a clash between a group of people and the local people but now the situation is under control.

The local BJP leader alleged that several party workers were injured in the attack.
