Security increased in temples after terrorist plot busted in Mendhar in Jammu and Kashmir


Security personnel have been deployed in temples. People of the Hindu community were also demanding protection and now they have thanked the Indian Army and other security forces.

There are temples on the target of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. In the Mendhar sub division of Poonch district on Sunday, the security forces thwarted a major terrorist incident and arrested three terrorists, whose purpose was to attack grenade in Hindu temples. In view of this, security in the temples has now been increased. Security personnel have been deployed in temples. People of the Hindu community were also demanding protection and now they have thanked the Indian Army and other security forces.

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday arrested three terrorists belonging to Pakistan, thwarting the plot to attack a temple in the border Poonch district. Six grenades were recovered from the terrorists. The arrested terrorists were plotting to attack a temple at the behest of the Pakistani mentor with the intention of disturbing peace and community harmony in the district. The captured terrorists have confessed that their motive was to target several temples in Mendhar, so that the atmosphere here could be disturbed.

According to Poonch Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Kumar Englishal, the conspiracy was discovered when the Special Police Group (SOG) of the local police teamed up with 49 Rashtriya Rifle personnel during a vehicle search near Basuni in Mendhar sector at around 8 pm on Saturday Detained two brothers- Mustafa Iqbal and Murtaza Iqbal. Both are residents of Galhuta village. The officer said he was interrogated at the battalion headquarters of 49 National Rifles in Basuni and during interrogation it was found that Mustafa had received a call from a Pakistani number and was instructed to carry out a grenade attack.

According to the officer, on strictly interrogation, he confessed that he was tasked to throw a grenade at a temple in Ari village. A video was found in his mobile which explained how to use the grenade. Senior Superintendent of Police said that it was also revealed that Mustafa was involved in terrorist activities and on the basis of his confession two of his associates – Mohammad Yasin and Rais Ahmed were also arrested from Dabbi village of Balakote near the Line of Control. Another police officer said that the three were later arrested, while Murtuja Iqbal is in custody and is being interrogated.
