The case is of Bandarpakhari Road in Charkop area of Kandivali in Mumbai western suburb. Where Subhash Khode, Yuvraj Pawar and Mannu Radheshyam Gupta died due to fire in the temple early on Sunday. Khode and Pawar died on the spot while Mannu died in Shatabdi Hospital.
According to the police, three people sleeping in the temple could not get out due to the early morning fire. Police said that on the basis of intelligence inputs, it was found that a 20-year-old youth was slapped by Yuvraj Pawar two days ago. He planned to assassinate her to avenge this.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Thakur said that the accused pulled out 5 liters of petrol from his Activa. He sprinkled petrol in the temple with the help of a minor and set it on fire. The police arrested both the accused within 24 hours of the incident and registered a case under sections 302, 436 and 34 of the IPC.
