The Indian team announced their playing XI for the second Test against Australia on Friday. A day before the match in Melbourne, BCCI tweeted and informed about the team’s final XI.

A total of four major changes have been made to the team. Accordingly, two players from India will get a chance to make a test debut. While in the absence of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team. Veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was given the vice-captaincy of the team.

Mohammed Siraj will make his Test debut in this match in place of veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who was ruled out of the series due to injury. While Shubman Gill will get his debut in batting, he has been included in the squad in place of Prithvi Shaw. Apart from these, Rishabh Pant has been made the wicketkeeper in place of Wriddhiman Saha. At the same time, after passing the fitness test, the experienced all-rounder of the team Ravindra Jadeja has also returned to the team.
