The BCCI on Thursday named Chetan Sharma, former India team fast bowler, as the chairman of the new national selection committee. In the AGM held in Ahmedabad on Thursday, the BCCI has nominated Chetan Sharma from North Zone as well as Abhay Kuruvilla from West Zone and Devashish Mohanty from East Zone as new members of the National Selection Committee.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of BCCI on Thursday conducted interviews for the selection of three members in the selection committee, in which these three have been appointed. Please tell that the name of former Indian fast bowler Ajit Agarkar was leading as the chairman of this selection committee, but he could not be selected.

Please tell that the CAC of Madan Lal, RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik interviewed many candidates today. These include names like Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das, Nayan Mongia and Maninder Singh. Leaving them all behind, the committee stamped the names of these three.

The BCCI issued a statement saying, “CAC has selected Chetan Sharma, Abhay Kuruvilla and Devashish Mohanty for Team India’s selection committee. In future, the committee will be headed by Chetan Sharma as he is more senior than all the members of the selection committee. The CAC will conduct a review a year after the tenure of the selectors. Explain that these three new members will join the selection committee along with Sunil Joshi and Harvinder Singh.

Let us know that Chetan Sharma, who took a hat-trick in the 1987 World Cup, has played 23 Tests and 65 ODIs for Team India. He has 61 wickets in Tests and 67 wickets in ODIs.
