A 25-year-old woman was found unconscious on the track near Vashi railway station in Navi Mumbai. Police suspect that the woman has been raped and unknown people have tried to kill her. A police officer gave information about this.

The police officer said on Friday that a local train motorman saw the woman in unconscious state near the bridge of the railway station on Tuesday. There were scarred marks on the woman’s body. He was admitted to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

He said that during the investigation it came to light that the woman lives in Titwala in Thane district and works in Powai, Mumbai. She used to visit his house once a week. The officer said she came home last Sunday and then returned to work the next day. He did not contact his family for the next two days. On Tuesday, she was found unconscious on the track.

He said that the woman was initially admitted to Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital (NMMC) in Vashi. After initial treatment he was admitted to JJ Hospital in Mumbai. The police officer said that by looking at the woman’s condition it seems that someone tried to kill her.

A case was registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and later section 376 (misdemeanor) was also added. Police suspect that after the rape, someone threw the woman there with the intention of killing her. A medical report is awaited in the case.
