West Bengal’s ruling party TMC erupted when Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Rabindra Nath Tagore’s relationship with Gujarat at the centenary celebrations of Visva Bharati University. TMC leader Bratya Basu said that everyone knows that Tagore is a world poet, so why is PM Modi trying to tie him to a particular state.
Let me tell you that in his address PM Modi told that the job of Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore’s elder brother Satyendra Nath Tagore was employed in Gujarat. Then Ravindra Nath Tagore used to come to meet him in Ahmedabad, where he wrote two of his poems.
PM claimed ‘visva’ means universal & is trying to apply that in context of acceptance in India. But can he practice this spirit of acceptance? What about cow vigilantees who beat people to death. Can he take responsibility for their actions as he preaches: Bratya Basu, TMC leader pic.twitter.com/vJcrfN8Tjd
