The suavendu officer of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who holds the number two position in the government of West Bengal, has now become BJP. It is being said that Suvendu was angry about his neglect in TMC. He openly shared the stage with the Home Minister during Amit Shah’s rally, following which his speculation of joining the BJP came to a complete halt. The TMC chief has suffered a major political setback after Suvendu Adhikari, who is called right hand of Mamata Banerjee, joined the BJP.
After joining the party, Suvendu directly attacked Mamata Banerjee’s government. He said that the economic situation of West Bengal is very bad. If the state is to be freed, then it needs to be handed over to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mamta and TMC had disappeared from posters
Posters of ‘Amra Dadar Anugami’ were seen in many places in many districts of South Bengal these days. Aamra Dadar is the follower i.e. we are the followers of Dada. It is being told that these posters were by supporters of Suvendu Adhikari. These posters were being placed in many areas of East Medinipur, West Medinipur, West Burdwan, Nadia, Murshidabad. Neither Mamata Banerjee’s name nor TMC’s mark was among the posters supporting Suvendu. In the poster, there was only a picture of Suvendu Adhikari everywhere.

Who is Suvendu Adhikari?
Suvendu Adhikari was the Minister of Transport, Irrigation and Water Resources in Mamta Banerjee’s current term. He left the post on 27 November. He has also been a member of the 15th and 16th Lok Sabha. Along with Suvendu’s name, there is mention of TMC’s Nandigram movement in 2007. This movement, led by Mamta Banerjee in 2007, overthrew the rule of the Left in Bengal for decades. Suvendu had prepared the blueprint for this movement.
Suvendu’s status in 35 assembly seats in West Bengal
Suvendu’s father Shishir Adhikari and younger brother Divyendu Adhikari are TMC MPs from Tamluk and Kanti seats. Shishir Adhikari has also served as Minister of State for Rural Development in the Manmohan government. Suvendu Adhikari is an influential leader in East Midnapore. According to TMC sources, he holds a total of 35 assembly seats, including West Midnapore, Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram and parts of Birbhumi.

Architect of Nandigram movement
Suvendu was then an MLA from Kanti Dakshin seat. He gathered the people of Nandigram under the Land Abolition Resistance Committee and intensified the movement of land movement against the Left Government. When the Left’s ‘iron hand’ seemed invincible, it was Suvendu Adhikari who defeated Laxman Seth, the Bahubali of the CPI (M). Simultaneously, it strengthened the TMC base in the ‘Jungle Mahal’ area i.e. West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura districts.
Suvendu is upset with Mamta Banerjee
The reason for Suvendu’s displeasure is that Mamata was giving more importance to her nephew Abhishek Banerjee than other party leaders and has unanimously made her his successor. Strong leaders like Suvendu were not willing to accept it. Suvendu has never openly said anything against the party chief but he has been a constant target inside the Trinamool.
