The incident took place at 10 am on Saturday. The two-storey building located in the RZ block of Khyala area used to make fan parts. According to local people, a total of 13 people worked in the factory. Six workers, including three women, were working in the room on the ground floor of the factory on Saturday morning. At the same time, suddenly the balcony made for placing the goods under the roof of the first floor collapses. A large amount of iron goods was kept on the balcony. All the items placed on it along with the debris of the balcony fell on top of the six laborers working in the room and all were buried under the debris. After the explosion there was a scream. People living nearby immediately rushed to the scene and removed the debris of the stone and the balcony made of the guard and took out four of the six laborers trapped there and brought them to the hospital. Meanwhile, police, firefighters and people from other agencies involved in the relief work reached the spot and removed two others from the debris and admitted them to the Guru Nanak Hospital.
Where doctors declared three women Chyna (36), Guddi (45), Twinkle (25) and Ramesh (35) dead. While Ravi and Guddu Kumar are undergoing treatment. Investigation revealed that the factory is owned by Mahendra Pal, a resident of Uttam Nagar. Motor widening was used here. Some workers lived in the factory while some are from nearby. The police has informed the families of the deceased workers and the regional SDM of Patel Nagar about the incident. The police have registered a case of negligence and started investigating.
