Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other party members left the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense Affairs midway. Sources have informed about this on Wednesday. He left the meeting alleging that time was being spent discussing the uniforms of the armed forces rather than the important issue of national security.

Sources say that Rahul Gandhi wanted to raise issues related to China’s aggression in Ladakh and to provide better equipment to the troops before the committee, but the chairman of the committee and BJP leader Juel Oraon did not allow it.

According to one of the leaders present in the meeting, the issue of uniforms for Army, Navy and Air Force personnel was being discussed in the committee meeting in the presence of Chief Defense Chairman General Bipin Rawat and Rahul said that instead of discussing it Leaders should discuss issues of national security and strengthening the armed forces deployed in Ladakh.

The chairman of the committee did not allow the former Congress president to speak, after which Rahul Gandhi decided to leave the meeting. After this, Congress MPs Rajeev Satav and Revanth Reddy also attended the meeting. Sources said that Rahul Gandhi said that the people associated with the army will decide in terms of uniforms and the leaders should discuss national security issues instead.
