Naresh Tikait, the national president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, will again hold a big panchayat at UP Gate on 17 December. This time he will be accompanied by thousands of farmers from several Khapas in western Uttar Pradesh. In a meeting of Khap Panchayats on December 14 in Soram village of Muzaffarnagar, it was decided to have a panchayat here on December 17. Earlier, Naresh Tikait held a mahapanchayat with thousands of farmers at UP Gate on December 3.

Preparation to strengthen the movement through Khap Panchayat
Soram village of Muzaffarnagar is the headquarters of the Khap Panchayats. Dhakendra Malik, media in-charge of Bhakiyu, said on Tuesday that the meeting of the Khap Panchayats took place in Soram on December 14 to further strengthen the farmers’ movement. About eight Khap Panchayat farmers from western Uttar Pradesh participated in it.

It was decided in the meeting that the UP Gate be traveled on December 17 so that the movement can get full force. He informed that it was decided in the meeting that all Khap Panchayat farmers will go to UP Gate under the leadership of their respective president. Naresh Tikait will lead Balian Khap.

Similarly, the farmers of Khap Panchayats like Rathi, Tomar, Ahlawat, Lathian etc. will leave villages for UP Gate under the leadership of their respective presidents. He informed that thousands of farmers of Khap Panchayats will reach UP Gate on December 17, then there will be a big Panchayat at UP Gate later that same afternoon.

There is a lot of enthusiasm among the farmers, who have been at UP Gate since 19 days, for the arrival of these farmers. Farmers say that this panchayat will greatly strengthen the movement. Preparations are being made for their accommodation arrangements. Let me tell you that earlier on December 3, Naresh Tikait came with thousands of farmers. He held a mahapanchayat here. He will come for the second time at UP Gate.

Emergency service vehicles will also be stopped
On Tuesday, some trolleys of farmers in Rampur were stopped by the local police. When this news reached UP Gate, the farmer leaders contacted the police of Rampur. Still the farmers got angry when the solution was not found. Around four o’clock in the evening, the farmers announced on the expressway from the mike that now vehicles connected with emergency services such as ambulances, police vehicles etc. will not be allowed to go. As of now it is arranged that the farmers allow vehicles connected with the emergency service to pass on the lane from Ghaziabad to Delhi on the expressway.
