According to the dossier prepared by a central security force, India is currently playing the role of a ‘transit country’ (a transit country when transported to another country) for round-colored red yaba drugs. But the massive increase in its smuggling is a clear indication that Yaba will not take long to make inroads among drug addicts in the country. The dossier also states that most Indian smugglers, who are still trafficking illegal illegal syrup, have shifted themselves to smuggling of yaba due to high demand and high earning.
According to a senior Union Home Ministry official, Yaba’s cross-border smuggling of security, intelligence and anti-narcotics agencies and concerns about its use in our country has led to more data on drug seizures over the last two years The reason is increased. In earlier years, Yaba’s consignment was less than that of Fensidile.
According to two senior officials of the BSF, the biggest concern is the growing concern over the drug trafficking being caught in the smuggling states like West Bengal till now. For this reason, BSF patrol teams have been alerted more on the 4096 km long border with Bangladesh. Apart from this, the smugglers are also adopting the method of sending it from Myanmar to Mizoram and sending it to Tripura’s capital Agartala via Aizawl to Bangladesh. Smugglers active on both sides of the border in Tripura have also joined the drug trade due to greater financial gain by quitting the smuggling of charas.
These smuggling figures are giving concern
7.22 lakh Yaba tablets were caught by smugglers in 2019
Only 3.08 lakh bottles of fensidyl were caught last year
6.65 lakh Yaba tablets seized by November in 2020
Only 05 lakh Fensidile bottles could be seized during this
Yaba’s raw material comes from China
Apart from Crazy Medicine, Yabadabad, also known as Madanas Drug, Nazi Speed, etc., mainly contains caffeine and methamphetamine chemical. All the illegal labs that make Yaba are operating in Myanmar, but the raw material that makes it is smuggled from China to Myanmar. It is then smuggled to the 270-km-long border from Myanmar or Bangladesh via India, where it is in great demand. According to officials, this drug causes symptoms like tension, excitement, anger and irritability among the youth. It causes extensive damage to the kidneys, heart, liver and brain.
Price ranges from 150 to 1000 rupees
A tablet from Yaba starts anywhere from Rs 150 to Rs 1000 depending on the quality and demand, while the price of fencidal syrup is much lower.
