The nurse union of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has gone on strike. The nurses union has taken this step due to non-fulfillment of their demands. He says that salary should be as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.

After the AIIMS Nurses Union went on strike, AIIMS director Randeep Guleria said he was proud that the institute worked hard during the Kovid epidemic this year. But it is sad that the nurse union has gone on strike during this difficult time.

He said that we hope that true nurses of AIIMS will not leave their patients just as Florence Nightingale said that true nurses never leave their patients. There are mainly 23 demands of nurses which have been accepted by the government and AIIMS administration. One of his major demands in this is to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.

We have had several meetings with them for this. Not only the AIIMS administration but also the government has explained that the demand to increase their salary will be considered. Despite this, it is inappropriate to talk of increasing salary in times of epidemic. Randeep Guleria appealed to the nurses to end the strike and return to work and help us fight the epidemic.
