Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 36590 selected candidates in the second phase of recruitment of 69 thousand assistant teachers in Basic Education Council. During this, he addressed the candidates through video conferencing and congratulated them for getting the appointment letter.

He said that the role of teachers of basic education is more important than teachers of higher and secondary education as they strengthen the foundation of the future of the country. He said that with this, the process of recruitment of 69 thousand assistant teachers has been completed in the state.

Appointment will be given if discrepancy is removed, but merit will not change
To remove the slight discrepancy in the recruitment of 69 thousand teachers, the selected candidates will be given an opportunity, but the merit will not be changed. Renuka Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Basic Education Department, has issued its mandate on Friday.

Candidates who had filled more or less the marks against the original marksheet in the application form will get the original copy of the marksheet and they will be appointed on the basis of less or more marks. Also, an affidavit will be taken that he agrees to the selection on the basis of less or more marks, will not ask for merit change on the basis of higher marks in future.

The department has clarified that the residency certificate and caste certificate issued till May 28, 2020, will be accepted till the last date for submission of applications from BSA. It has also been clarified that the caste of the selected female candidate will not be changed by merely getting married in another caste, but will be considered the same caste in which she is born. The selection of women candidates to be selected after getting the benefit of reservation on the basis of caste certificate of husband will be canceled.
