11 times BJP increased power
The TRS got 99 seats in the 2016 election. Owaisi’s party was at 44. Whereas BJP had got only four seats. In this way, the TRS has been given a tough challenge by the BJP. Amit Shah has expressed surprise at the result, describing it as a great success. Senior BJP leader, Bhupendra Yadav, who specializes in election management, described it as the moral victory of the party. Significantly, the BJP had thrown its full strength in the election of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation with 150 seats. While BJP President JP Nadda himself went to campaign in it, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also campaigned for BJP. Not only this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also went to Hyderabad to see the laboratory of Kovid-19 vaccine at the last time. This visit of the Prime Minister was also seen to be linked to the municipal elections.
What is the meaning of 48 seats
No party has been able to get a clear majority in the municipal elections with the BJP taking the field. The BJP was successful in becoming the second party in the elections and unlike the previous elections, there was no increase in the base of the Congress party. The Congress, which won 52 seats in the 2009 elections, could win only two seats in 2016 and this time too it had to be satisfied with only two seats. In this way, the BJP has started spreading its footprint in the state of South India. Telangana is to have state assembly elections in 2023. In such a situation, it is believed that the BJP in Telangana may become a major challenge for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the assembly elections to be held after three years.
