This election may be of the Municipal Corporation, but the aggressiveness with which the BJP has contested here has set the eyes of the entire nation on it. For the first time, BJP contested any municipal election in the country with such aggressiveness. For the election campaign, the party laid down its entire army except Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. BJP President JP Nadda, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister Amit Shah reached Hyderabad for campaigning. Apart from this, the party also fielded leaders like Smriti Irani, Prakash Javadekar, Tejashwi Surya, Devendra Fadnavis.
Semi-finals for upcoming Telangana assembly election!
The BJP is also looking at this election as a semi-final from the assembly elections in Telangana. However, there is still a long time in the 2023 assembly elections. But before that the BJP has come together with the intention of strengthening its position. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is one of the largest municipal corporations in the country. This municipal corporation consists of 4 districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy. There are 24 assembly seats and 5 Lok Sabha seats inside this municipal corporation.
BJP trying to make the fort of South India
South India still remains a tough challenge for the BJP. Barring one Karnataka, BJP’s influence is not much in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala. BJP’s fight with Owaisi, TRS, Congress
Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has a total of 150 wards. The ruling TRS is contesting all 150 wards. BJP is contesting 149 wards, Congress on 146 wards, TDP on 106 wards, MIM 51, CPI on 17, CPM on 12 and other parties in 76 wards. Earlier, in the last election held in 2016, the ruling party won 99 seats of TRS and Owaisi’s AIMIM 44 seats, while BJP won only 5 seats. At the same time, Congress won only 2 wards.
