The stock market fell on Friday, the last trading day of the week, amid weak global cues. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex fell by 0.25 per cent to close at 110.02 points at 44149.72. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty lost 0.31 per cent (40.65 points) to close at the level of 12946.35.

According to provisional data of the stock market, foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 2,027.31 crore in the capital market on Thursday on a gross basis. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex had gained 439.25 points or 1.01 per cent. It is known that the index has recovered the entire loss in the year 2020. It closed at 41,306.02 on January 1, 2020. However according to analysts, further market volatility will continue. Hence investors should be cautious.

Such was the situation of veteran shares
Talking about the big stocks, today the shares of Tata Motors, Asian Paints, Hero MotoCorp, Divis Lab and Bajaj Auto closed on the green mark. JSW Steel, Nestle India, Power Grid, Shree Cement and HCL Tech closed at the red mark.

Vodafone Idea partners for digital products
Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has entered into several partnerships to offer education and health related digital products and services, under which special benefits will be offered to customers. This move of the telecom company will help in increasing digital connectivity as well as increase income. VIL said that in addition to telecom services, it is focusing exclusively on offering digital services. Under this, the company has partnered with Upgrade, Eudemi, Pedajoji, Cure Dot Fit, OneMG, MFine, UniMart and other service providers.

Today, the stock of Vodafone Idea declined. After opening at level 10, it declined by 1.51 per cent and closed at 9.80. Currently, the company has a market capitalization of Rs 280.45 billion.

Sectoral index tracking
If we look at the sectoral index, today, apart from FMCG, IT and metal, all sectors closed on the green mark. These include banks, PSU banks, private banks, finance services, pharma, media, realty and autos.

Market was open on a slight decline
Today the stock market opened on a slight decline. The Sensex was down 18.30 points (0.04 per cent) to open at 44241.44. At the same time, the Nifty started with a decline of 2.10 points (0.02 per cent) at 12984.90.

The market was closed on the last trading day
The stock market gained momentum on the previous trading day as foreign funds continued to come in. The Sensex gained 0.98 per cent to close at 44259.74, up 431.64 points. At the same time, the Nifty closed at the level of 13014 with a gain of 1.21 per cent (155.60 points).
